Local favorite wins coldest Bassmaster Classic in history
Local favorite wins coldest Bassmaster Classic in history.
This headline is pretty much a journalist’s dream to write.
It’s got all the elements of a good story:
- A local angle (Angler Casey Ashley won the 2015 Bassmaster Classic while fishing on Lake Hartwell, his hometown lake. One of his main sponsors is Costa sunglasses. *DISCLAIMER: Both B.A.S.S. and Costa brands are PR clients of Full Circle PR.)
- A superlative (With low temperatures in single digits – and ice covering some sections of the lake – it was the coldest Bassmaster Classic in history. This fun fact was verified and reported on by the Weather Channel.)
- Tons of visuals (Shiny boats, a beautiful lake, big bass and lots of dedicated fans were just some of the exciting things one could see during a sporting event that is compared in scope to the NFL’s Super Bowl.)
Our entire team was fortunate enough to attend the Day 1 launch, as well as some of the other events associated with the Classic (the weigh in, the expo, sponsor parties, etc.). We had a blast sharing pictures, updates and information on our personal social media channels.
Liza and I were talking about how fun the past few days have been – and how blessed we are to have the opportunity to do what we love for a living, while working with a great team.
And now that we’re talking about how great our team is….I have to say that Heather Miller is just the bomb diggity. To see her in action over the past few days has just been awesome. She knows EVERYONE and everyone loves her.
She managed media relations, event activities, logistics and client relations just so beautifully. It was really something to see her in her element. I know the clients love her, and so do we.

I’m so proud of Heather, Casey, all of our clients and the rest of our team. I’m a proud mama!
Did you follow the Classic this year? If so, what was your favorite part? Mine was meeting many of the anglers and seeing their families cheer them on during the launch.
