Not Google Plus
You might think because we help many of our clients implement social media programs that we’re the first ones to endorse every bright, shiny new online tool that comes about. Not so.
It is true that we make a pass through each social media platform as it becomes available so we can evaluate its usefulness for ourselves or for our clients. But as we’ve stated before and I’ll say again, some social media tools are right for your brands and some are not. It’s all about knowing where your customers are hanging out and being present in the conversation with them in a way that makes sense.
So on that note, when Kim shared this video with us earlier this week, I had to laugh out loud. Yes, I’ve tried Google+ and no, I’m not really digging it. That’s not to say I wouldn’t find a place for it if the strategy was right, but for me personally, it’s just one more social media profile to try and maintain. Me? I’d rather go eat a cantelope.
