Keeping things in perspective

We’ve mentioned before how lucky we are to have an office so close to the beautiful Falls Park in downtown Greenville, S.C. Kim and I take advantage of our location several times a week to take a walk in the park for a few minutes during the day.

We tie on our walking shoes (yes, we look like a scene out of “Working Girl”) and hit part of the Swamp Rabbit Trail.  It’s a great time for Kim and me to catch up on things happening within our business, but also just to chat as friends.

These walks always bring me back to the office refreshed and ready to take on the rest of the day (if not the world!).  The conversations that happen during these “power walks” help keep things in perspective for me.  We’ve actually come up with some of our best ideas during our strolls.

What do you do in your day-to-day business setting to help keep you refreshed and revitalized?  Do you have a place you go to for inspiration?  Or a person who you lean on to help keep things real for you?  We’d love to hear from you.
